Aero club flies in to help our sick kids

THE Grafton Aero Club Inc presented the Grafton Base Hospital children's ward with a $500 cheque just in time for Christmas.

Club president Kevin Wilson said while members felt they were able to celebrate and enjoy Christmas, there were many who were not so fortunate.

It was decided the club would donate the money to a worthy cause.

"Christmas is a special time not only celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ but a time that families and friends get together and enjoy one another's company, often after a long hard year," Mr Wilson said.

"Most of us will remember Christmas as a child, the excitement of all the pageantry, the colour, Christmas trees, decorations, lights, opening of presents, the food etc.

"For this reason we decided it was important that those children who will spend their Christmas in hospital should have something special and we were proud to present a cheque for $500 to the children's ward, Grafton Hospital."
