Allow extra driving time for McFarlane Bridge closures

MOTORISTS are being advised to plan ahead and allow plenty of travel time with Maclean's McFarlane Bridge to be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for restoration work.

The closure will be in place from 9.30am and 2.30pm Tuesday and Wednesday and an alternative route will be available via South Arm and South Arm School Rds at Brushgrove and then the Pacific Highway to Maclean. This will add about 30 minutes of travel time to the journey.

Electronic signs will be in place around the Maclean area to notify motorists about the changed traffic conditions.

The work is part of a major restoration project of the bridge expected to take about 12 months to complete, weather permitting.

For up-to-date traffic information, contact the Roads and Maritime Services Transport Management Centre on 132 701 or head online .
