Another day of roving in Maclean
Well I am wrapping up here at Maclean and can't wait until next time.
Today I caught up with John, the new Maclean Chamber of Commerce President.
We had a bit of a chat about the questions he will be asking of the council regarding rates.
I had a few visitors stop by and also had some delicious lunch and treats brought into by Joy Allen. I have been feeling pretty spoilt.
I have a couple more jobs to do before hitting the road back to the office in Grafton, check out the paper tomorrow for more on how I went at the Scottish town!
I'm trying to get a moment with Wendy from Ace Variety Discounts but between serving and stock turning up, she is hard to get to chat to.
I am hoping to find out a little more about her newer shop Red Rock Clothing.
I was chatting with some people down at Lawrence this morning and they were saying how after Mackellys closed at Maclean, there was nowhere to buy "bras and knickers".
Wendy said the same thing when I walked in the door - which is why she opened Red Rock, just a few doors down from Ace Variety Discounts.
I'll find out more when she has a spare second.
A WIDE selection of cakes of other tasty treats is always a great way to start the day.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to an Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at the Lawrence Public Hall.
My third day in Maclean has started and I'm currently at Ace Variety Discounts.
After lunch I'll be at hanging around Maclean Variety Meats.
A butcher shop might like seem like a funny choice but being a butcher's daughter, I'll feel quite at home.
