70 draws in super fundraising raffle

By JULIA ILES

THE GRAFTON Hotel will host a mega-raffle fundraising event in aid of the Stoker Family.

Organiser of the event, hotel licensee Alan Cannon said he and his patrons were always keen to get behind a local cause.

"It comes with being a part of the community and I can't think of a worse scenario for the four kids, with both parents having a terminal disease," he said.

The mega-raffle will start at 7:30pm on Friday August 26 and offer more than 50 separate draws.

The prizes include meat trays, fishing accessory baskets and finance packages.

Local band the Private Eyes will provide live entertainment.

Ticket sheets costing one dollar will soon be available at the hotel.

The mega-raffle is only part of the fundraising effort for the stricken family.

Other Grafton hotels have donation tins and are taking turns to host a $200 esky raffle.

Businesses wishing to donate to the fundraising effort are encouraged to contact
