A record field for cycle classic

A record-setting 200 entries have been received for this year's Eastmon Digital Photo Stores Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic.

In its 45th year the entries have eclipsed the previous record field of 183.

Organisers and Cycling NSW officials are over the moon with the response to this year's race.

Numbers of registered cyclists has been on the rise and this trend is filtering through to race entries.

Cycling NSW CEO Kevin Young said that they are extremely happy with the entry numbers for the Grafton to Inverell, which he calls NSW's premier cycling event.

Young said their membership has risen by 10 per cent over the last year and the record entries for the Grafton to Inverell are proof that their strategies for membership growth are working.

Organisers say the pleasing aspect of the entries is the fact that all five grades have been strongly supported.

We will have in excess of 50 riders for the Eastmon Digital Photo Stores A grade.

This field looks very even with one of the closest races in recent history expected.
