All the fun of the fair

THE GRAFTON Showground was abuzz yesterday with horses, reptiles and rides as thousands of people made their way to the first day of the Grafton Show.

Winners were picked as the best riders took to the ring for showjumping and the mini trotters raced around the track.

The nerves of a number of girls were on edge as judges announced Kiara Ebony Joe and Tammy Connor as the respective winners of the Junior Showgirl contest.

Also due last night was the awesome 'Kaos Freestyle Motocross' group, an exhibition campdraft and the first heats of the Black Toyota Camel Race.

Show secretary Anne De Graaf said the first day had been 'huge' and was expecting a very big show this year.
