Ballet swans into Maclean

By JURIS GRANEY

AFTER a spell-binding performance at the South Grafton High School auditorium at the end of last month, Swan Lake is coming to Maclean.

Performed by students at the Nicole Shipman Academy of Dance and the Adele Lewis School of Dance, A Night of Dance will be performed at the Maclean Civic Centre this Saturday from 7.30pm.

Ms Lewis said the response from their Grafton performance had all 'been positive'.

"From what I have heard it was very well received, which is great news for the dancers who took part," Ms Lewis said.

"Unfortunately, we won't be having the back up of the Clarence Valley Conservatorium Sinfonia Orchestra because they have prior commitments.

"The reason we are putting this show on is the demand from the public after our first performance."

Ms Lewis said up to 70 dancers aged nine to 18 will perform several troupe dances as well as the beautifully rehearsed and ever-popular Swan Lake.

"This is the first year we have done this and because of the success it has had, I hope we can do it annually," she said.
