Bargains go in the box

TASMAN Davies was just one of the hundreds of Clarence Valley shoppers taking advantage of post-Christmas savings yesterday.

The five-year-old accompanied his mother Lindy to the shops and was stoked after she let him choose his favourite decorations to take home for next year's celebrations.

"This is the first year we've been to the sales," Ms Davies said. "I think the longest part was the queues to be honest. They were pretty long ... but it's always really crowded in here around Christmas.

"They'll all be packed away in boxes until next year ... but it's good to replace our old decorations which I've had for a while (when) they're all half price."

Tamsan said he had enjoyed the post-Christmas sales, but particularly his box of toy soldiers.
