Basketball slammers converge on Grafton

A NEW action-packed version of basketball is coming to Grafton.

A tournament of the modified game, labelled 4Slam, hits town on Saturday, and organisers are calling for teams and players.

Teams are made up of four players and the ring is a full foot lower than it would be in the usual version of the sport.

The improvised standards allow for a more fun game, say organisers, and players are encouraged to slam dunk (four points) and shoot hoops from a new four-point line.

Organisers say 4Slam has swept throughout Australia and is shortly headed to the United States and China.
