Big day for bargains

By LEIGH PRITCHARD

EVERYBODY loves a bargain, and that is something that Lawrence Museum president Rae Harrison is counting on this weekend.

Mrs Harrison said the museum was hosting a fundraising garage sale today from 7.30am to 4pm.

"A lot of the residents in the area have donated things," she said.

"Lawrence people rally around a good cause pretty well."

Mrs Harrison said there would be plenty of items for bargain hunters.

"I'd imagine there would be some haggling," she said.

"People will come to support us and have a look and hopefully it will be a social morning as well."

Mrs Harrison said there were hundreds of items including two electric organs, furniture, books, kitchen utensils and a kitchen sink.

The museum is located in the former 2NR building at the top of the hill near the Lawrence ferry.
