Big Sky expands

IN RECENT years, a number of airlines have left Grafton.

But the company currently servicing the run between Grafton and Sydney has not only stayed, it is expanding the number of flights.

From May 23, the Big Sky Express schedule will include two extra flights per week between Grafton and Sydney.

Big Sky Express marketing co-ordinator Stuart Gerathy, said the new flights were in response to increased passenger loads and a need to expand the airline's services.

"The Grafton to Sydney runs are going really well and we're getting really good loads on that," Mr Gerathy said.

"We just saw the need for another flight for people so we're putting this on from May 23."

The new flights will run on Monday and Friday. Both will depart Grafton airport at 11.30am, arriving in Sydney at 1.30pm.

The return flight will depart Sydney at 2.05pm and get to Grafton at 3.40pm.

The extra Grafton-Sydney flights come on top of the standby Grafton to Brisbane flights which were announced by the airline in March.

"We're getting a lot of enquiries about (those flights)," Mr Gerathy said.
