THE Grafton Basketball Stadium will be transformed into an arena of St Patrick's Day themed boogie on March 17, as the Clarence Valley Youth Committee presents an under 18s dance.

The Kick Off Dance came about after numerous requests from young people around Grafton.

The drug and alcohol free event will commence at 6.30pm and end at 10pm.

Free transport to and from the event will be available from Coutts Crossing and Copmanhurst.

Beats for the night will be provided by popular DJ Wesboy.

Pre-sold tickets are available for $7 from Grafton Surf Co and the Armidale Street Store.

On the night tickets will be sold for $8 at the door.

The Kick Off Dance will be sponsored the Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), so there will also be a variety of information available to assist the needs and issues faced by young people.

The committee hope to use this event to raise money to put on further events for young people and establish a Youth Centre.

The CV Youth Centre Committee will have their final meeting prior to the event at the Basketball Stadium on Monday March 13 at 5.30pm.
