CLARENCE Valley boxing fans will return to one of the sport's most popular venues tonight.
A full card of fighters, including a number of local rugby league players, will turn out at the Grafton Regional Livestock Selling Centre ? a frequent venue two decades ago for Grafton boxing product, Jeff 'Hitman' Harding.
South Grafton Rebels rugby league front rower Xavier Sullivan will take on the NSW super heavy weight title holder Bobby Two Guns in the main event on the card.
A tournament organiser and fighter, Kyle Hands, said Sullivan has a lot of promise as a boxer.
"He's a giant of a man and a natural athlete," he said.
"I can tell you, you wouldn't want him to hit you."
Fight promoter Michael Magnay said the under-card also has a lot to offer Valley fight fans.
Magnay confirmed that the rest of the card is full, with names like Kyle 'The Hurricane' Hands, Eddie Debono, Steve Kirby, Ray Mercy and Phil Gaddies all ready to box.
There will also be plenty of eye-candy for fight fans with the Ralph Swim Wear model competition winner and runner-up contracted to be the round girls.
Competition winner Sarah Hillandsberg and runner-up Natasha Moule, whose appearance has been sponsored by Edye Jones Gallery, are excited at the prospect of tonight's event.
In addition to their official duties, the pair will assist in an auction of a signed genuine Muhammad Ali glove, an authentic Danny Green glove and a framed poster of Ali, donated by Frames Plus.
Naming rights sponsor, Michael Gane of Grafton Metal & Fabrications, was delighted to have a chance to bring a major boxing event back to the Valley.
"Boxing is a strong part Grafton's history and this looks to be a great night of amateur boxing," he said.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the sale yards on the night from 6pm onwards. Get in early for a good seat.
