Boy, 15, bashed while asleep

WHILE a 15-year-old Grafton male slept, a home invader crept up beside him and assaulted him twice in the head with a metal object in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At around 2am the boy called police after he had chased his attacker out of the house.

Fortunately he was able to get a good description.

The assault resulted in two 75mm lacerations requiring medical attention and overnight hospitalisation at the Grafton Base Hospital, but there were no serious head injuries.

Electronic equipment was also stolen from the house.

Prior to the incident the police had been called to the premises regarding a noise complaint stemming from a party.

Grafton Detectives are currently investigating suspects and evidence taken from the house.

Members of the community who have any information are encouraged to contact Senior Constable Tony King on 66420222.
