Breakers? winning streak continues

THE Yamba Tavern sponsored Yamba Breakers senior soccer team recorded its fourth win of the season with a convincing 2nil win over Lawrence.

This score line was a bit flattering as Yamba could of easily won by six goals if they had converted all of their chances.

The match played at Yamba began in warm conditions with Yamba continuing to develop their game with possession and close passing.

The match soon began to open up with Yamba starting to dominate very early and Lawrence using the long ball in hoping to break the Yamba defence.

Yamba striker King was unlucky early as great keeping from the Lawrence keeper kept him at bay.

Fellow striker Dean was showing silky ball skills and with every game he is continuing to dominate defences with his range of skills. Midway through the half King was brought down in the penalty area and captain Glossop who was having a very dominate game stepped up and blasted home his seventh goal of the season.

Hopley was playing a very good game at left back and his skills and vision often opened the Lawrence left side.

For Lawrence the Thompson brothers were toiling away in a beaten side.

The second half began with Yamba again dominating and Lawrence relying on a kick and chase game.

The Yamba defence led by Ryan and Crouch in the middle were easily reading play and giving options for their team.

Left half Tom was having his best game of the season and his running on the left side was creating havoc.

Midway through the half Yamba went ahead by two goals after Glossop scored after a great run by King who crossed to the middle and Glossop rammed homea terrific shot. Despite at least four more chances, the score remained at 2-nil until the end.
