Brothers celebrate season in style

BROTHERS Post Office Hotel Cricket Club will be holding its end of season presentation this Friday night, April 7, at the Grafton District Golf Club.

The night will start at 6.30pm and the meal will be a smorgasbord from the Blue Ginger Restaurant. Cost for the night will be $25 a single, $40 a double and $15 for children.

The Brothers club is hoping to finish the season with a wonderful evening at which trophies will be awarded for batting and bowling in first, second and third grades with club trophies awarded from the Ryan Family, the George Harvey Memorial Shield and the Clubman of The Year.

After an indifferent year where first grade were still in the hunt for a semi-final spot right up until the last weekend and if they had a few things go for them through the year may have been in a more comfortable position on the competition table.

The second grade side had a mid season slump but finished the season strongly, being bundled out of the competition by eventual winners Coutts Crossing in the major final.

Third grade also finished strongly but missed out on the finals and they also had a season where games could have gone either way and this proved the difference at the end of the competition rounds.

The club has had members already indicate they will be attending the presentation, but if you haven't as yet please contact Ron Chaffey 66423911 and help us celebrate another season.

Brothers will be holding their annual general meeting soon after the presentation night so as to have their committee in place to commence the 2006/07 season.
