CDMA, ADSL for Coutts

FASTER INTERNET: Coutts Crossing residents now have access to a faster internet service, broadband ADSL, and far better mobile phone coverage. Member for Page, Ian Causley co-launched the new services with Telstra Country Wide's Susan Passmore in a ceremony conducted at the Coutts Crossing General store. Mr Causley said the first of the new services for Coutts Crossing broadband ADSL was funded through the Federal Governments Higher Bandwidth Incentive Scheme (known as HiBIS). More than 60 residents and businesses from Coutts Crossing registered their interest for broadband through the ADSL Demand Register, Mr Causley said. Mr Causley said the installation of a new digital CDMA base station would not only make doing business easier for those people whose work takes them away from a landline telephone but also help friends and family keep in touch. Our picture above shows Ian Causley with Country Wide's Sue Passmore, Ken Boyle (acting General Manager of the Clarence Valley Council) and Councillor Richie Williamson (Clarence Valley Council), who is trying out the new system.
