Chamber calendar charts secret nude business
By ADRIAN MILLER
THEY may have been fully clothed on Wednesday night, but for those at the launch of the Yamba Chamber of Commerce's 2006 nude calendar who bared all for the publication, not much was left to the imagination.
With a crowd of nearly 100 ogling the final shots, the participants were grateful for whatever skerrick of clothing, or well-placed utensil, they had used.
While all shots were well received by the crowd, by far the loudest cheer of the night was reserved for staff of the Yamba Meat Shop, whose photo on the golf course among the local fauna brought a whole new meaning to the phrase 'fresh meat'.
Mansfield's Boatharbour Marine owner, Bev Mansfield, or Mrs July, said the calendar had exceeded everyone's expectations.
"When we saw the finished product it was over the expectations we had, it was just amazing," she said.
"You can hang it anywhere so it has turned out to be a really good thing for the chamber to do."
The calendar features members of the Yamba business community in various stages of undress at iconic tourist attractions around the area.
Calendars are on sale throughout Yamba, with proceeds going to the Variety Club Yamba branch, the Yaegl Community, Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club and development of the Yamba skatepark.
