Chilling form rates Rockin Pneumonia in the Blue Stake
GREYHOUND racing continues in Grafton this afternoon with an action-packed 12-event race meeting highlighted by six heats of the Blue Michael's Take Away Grafton Stake and the 2/3rd grade Pettina Park Pet Care Centre Stake, both run over 407 metres.
Rockin Pneumonia is backing up after a slashing victory here last week and, off box one, it appears as though another trip to the winners' circle is imminent. This well-named son of Cyrus The Virus is probably meeting an inferior field than that which he disposed of last time out, and with a lack of early speed in the race, should lead all the way in heat three.
The first heat should produce a good battle between the Neville Robson-trained Allegro Storm, and Tipperary Gale, for trainer Peter Fuller.
Tipperary Gale showed that a win on the track is not far away with a narrow but unlucky second here last week. If she can cleanly exit, her box five draw does appear to be the testing material.
Neville and Pauline Robson are on a tremendous roll in recent weeks at this venue and this alone will see Allegro Storm as hard to beat.
Heat two is an open affair on paper, however, despite coming back in distance, the John North-trained Chaptain Ice will be the one to beat.
Chaptain Ice recorded a resounding win over 480 metres last week and will be the one to hold out.
Heat four features the impressive Where's Felix, lining up once again for trainer Gary Cluss. Gary received this pup as a giveaway when his previous owners could not get him to fire and soon found that he was carrying a few injuries. Another of the better bets of the day lines up in heat five in the shape of With Integrity. It is beautifully boxed out in box eight.
