Classic Victory

LOCAL surfer Matt Jones claimed first place in the open division of the Pippie Beach Surf Classic, which was held over the weekend.

Alison Brown won the Ladies, while Opens runner-up Jeremy Walters was first in the Seniors.

The Classic's presentation evening took place last night at the Yamba Bowling Club.

The night involved a smorgasbord dinner, the announcement of division winners and a performance from local band Cameltoe.

Beforehand, Angourie Boardriders Club treasurer Paul Curtis said everyone was looking forward to the presentation of trophies and prizes, and then 'relaxing and having a big night'.

Results for each division are:

Grommets: 1st Gunther Barwick; 2nd Dylan Campbell; 3rd Keaton Rheinberger; 4th Tasman Knight.

Cadets: 1st Jimmy Barwick; 2nd Bryce Young; 3rd Corey Helismar; 4th Cameron Hill.

Juniors: 1st Jackson Roberts; 2nd Cohen Rheinberger; 3rd Aaron Brophy; 4th Mitchell Curtis.
