Council to thrash out new ratings structure

IT will be Maclean's turn to host the next scheduled meeting of the Clarence Valley Council.

Mayor Ian Tiley and the new council will meet at the council chambers from 10am on Tuesday to discuss the council's business plans.

One of the major topics up for discussion will be the need to set- tle on a rating structure that will provide the most fair and equitable system for Clarence Valley residents.

Council will also be looking at how best to finance a funding shortfall to some of its water and sewerage projects brought about by the Carr Government's changes to its subsidy payments.
