Coutts digs deep



AROUND $4000 was raised at the annual Coutts Crossing Junior Rodeo and Campdraft on Saturday.

The event, held at the Coutts Crossing Travelling Stock Reserve, also featured the Coutts Crossing Ute Show with competitors travelling from near and far to show off their pride and joy.

Yet it was the locals who took out first prize for the best Holden, feral ute and hot rod or modified. However, it wasn't just the ute show that locals excelled in, with Grafton's Matt Newton and Adam Baker from Southgate taking out the first placings in the Juvenile Steer Ride and the Under-18 Breakaway Roping respectively. The Juvenile Campdraft and Novice Campdraft were won by Matt McGuren and Stephen Baker.

The money raised will be distributed between eight local charities.
