Cowper MP in hot seat

FEDERAL Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker is in the hot seat, having just been appointed to the Howard Government's Taskforce on Workplace Relations Reform.

Mr Hartsuyker was one of eight government MPs chosen by Prime Minister John Howard to assist Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews to communicate the details of the reforms.

Other taskforce members include Andrew Robb, Senator Santo Santoro, Alan Cadman, Stuart Henry, Senator Guy Barnett, Dr Andrew Southcott and Sophie Panopoulos.

Mr Hartsuyker, serving his second term in Federal Parliament, said: "There has been a lot of misleading information peddled by the unions on the proposed reforms and I welcome the PM's invitation to be a part of this taskforce.

"These reforms are essential to the nation's future.

"They will provide more flexibility in the workplace and ensure that workers and employers benefit from Australia's ability to compete in a world market."
