Crown Tigers go hunting in Coffs Harbour

THE Crown Hotel Westlawn Tigers will travel to Coffs Harbour tomorrow to take on the Coffs Coast Tigers in this weekend's round 14 match of the North Coast Premier League.

The Tigers had a 1-1 draw in their last meeting and it will be another fierce battle to come away with some points this time as well.

Tigers coach Terry Wratten named his Premier League side as Brad Robertson, Cody Wratten, Andrew Laverty, Peter Fysh, Daniel Purser, Matt Cheney, Matt Dougherty, Craig Phelps, James Connor, Jamie Pitkin, Luke Bickerton.

The Tigers could be boosted with return of talented midfielder Mitch Schofield, with a favourable outcome from the Coffs judiciary this week after his bewildering send-off in the controversial recent match with Valley United. The Grafton side will still field a strong team with the capability to match the Coffs Tigers and provide an entertaining match along the way. Daniel Purser has made the centre midfield position his with some stellar performances there in recent weeks and the availability of keeper Brad Robertson this week will significantly bolster the defences.

James Connor and Jamie Pitkin have also been developing into a dangerous goal-scoring combination with both scoring last week against the highly fancied Sawtell side.

The Westlawn Tigers reserves had a surprising 3-3 draw in their previous match-up with the Coffs Coast Tigers and the reserves coach, Dennis Pearce, will be expecting his squad to return to the winners' list with their attacking and entertaining brand of football.

Coach Pearce announced his squad for the warm-up match game as Michael Bowles, Maddison Slattery, Adam Pearce, Steve Allen, Adam Pearce, Harley Fennessy, Mitch Ware, Daniel Cheney, Jacob Lollback, Shorn Kippax, Thomas Ellem, Reggie Burley, Graeme Egan, Terry Wratten, Peter Allen.

In third division, the Westlawn Panthers travel to Maclean for a tough contest against the Bobcats.

The Bobcats took the points in their last meeting and Panthers coach John Pitkin will want a bit more pig in his players to take the game to the Bobcats.

John Pitkin named his side for the match as Dean Bennett, Mitch Ware, Scott Butcher, David Groth, Tony Powell, Thomas Ellem, Lindsay Nash, Aimee Hampden, Peter Taylor, Peter Allen, Greame Egan, Ben Pearce and Daniel Lollback.

The Westlawn Premier League game against Valley United is scheduled for 2pm at Coffs Harbour with the Crown Tigers reserves playing the warm up match at noon.

The bus leaves the Crown Hotel at 10.15am. The Westlawn Panthers take on the Maclean Bobcats in third division on Wherrett Park at 3pm this afternoon. They are gathering outside the Crown at 1.30pm.
