GRAFTON schoolboy rugby league star Daniel Bligh, has signed with the Manly Sea Eagles, taking his first steps on the way to the NRL big time as well.
The Year 11 South Grafton High School student has signed a two-year contract - one which is designed to allow him to stay in Grafton and complete his education.
The deal, which includes a cash incentive, was organised by local talent scout John 'Wicka' White.
Bligh, at 15 years of age, stands 188 centimetres tall and weighs 110kg.
His contract allows him to complete his Higher School Certificate in Grafton and he does not have to be in Sydney to start full-time training until early 2007.
Bligh was also in the sights of two other NRL clubs, and his size and maturity make him a strong tip for a stellar career in top-grade football.
