Dave back on his bike for charity

IT'S a long way from Inverell to Tamworth when you're riding a bike.

Grafton McDonald's owner Dave Munro will find out first hand just how far it is next week as he tackles the route to raise money for Ronald McDonald House in the Hunter.

A former triathlete, Mr Munro has been putting in the hard yards on the training track for the trip, which is one leg of the charity ride from Inverell to Newcastle.

"I haven't been on a bike for about five years so I've been getting back into it and doing around 300 to 400km each week," he said.

Mr Munro will join 15 other McDonald's franchise owners for the ride.

"A group of us came up with the idea of raising money for Ronald McDonald House and ... we're all fathers in relatively well-off positions so we thought we'd do something to help look after those kids," Mr Munro said.
