Developers, CVC enter into agreement

CLARENCE Valley Council's Environment and Planning Committee yesterday voted unanimously to endorse a Voluntary Planning Agreement between the developers of Yamba's Dolphin Blue Resort and council.

The developers entered into the agreement, which is encouraged by the NSW Department of Planning for large developments, and agreed to offer $300,000 towards Yamba's youth.

Any roadworks deemed necessary by the Roads and Traffic Authority will also be paid in full by the developers.

But it depends on whether the Department of Planning endorses the latest development proposed.

A report summary, prepared by David Morrison from council's environment and planning department, said should Planning Minis- ter Frank Sartor approve the development as proposed, the contribution will be required.

If not, and the minister approves the development in accordance with council's resolution, the developer is not obliged to make the contribution.
