Dream holidays go under hammer

A PRIVATE dinner cruise and holidays all over Australia are just two of the lots going under the auctioneer's hammer at the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club on Saturday night.

The venue is the seventh annual Grafton Midday Rotary Club charity auction and comedy dinner, where well over 200 bidders will open their wallets.

Autographed sporting memorabilia, leisure and vehicle goods, beauty products, TV and radio advertising packages and a mystery basket are just some of the other lots expected to attract spiriting bidding.

The private dinner cruise will be on board the MV Eddie Cox, with Georgies at the Gallery chef Mark Hackett providing the culinary delights. Australian holiday points have been donated by the Grafton Greater Building Society.

A third of the proceeds from the auction and dinner will go towards helping kids with life-threatening diseases, through the Camp Quality organisation. The Rotary Foundation will also benefit, as will local charities through Midday Rotary.

The fun starts at 6pm on Saturday. The $35 entry fee includes pre-dinner drinks, a two-course meal and rib-tickling entertainment.
