Former Grafton golfer?s career soars

By TONY WHITE

GRAFTON-RAISED golfer Peter Hall has landed an 'eagle', winning selection in the Queensland Academy of Sport for 2006-07 and being selected in the Queensland Under-23 colts team.

Hall was notified of his double triumph within 24 hours last Friday. The outstanding junior, who learned his trade at the Grafton District Golf Club, has worked extremely hard over the past year since moving to Queensland to gain entry into the prestigious academy.

"After getting selected for the academy and Queensland Under-23 team, Peter was on cloud nine when I spoke to him," Hall's father John said.

Hall joins an elite band of Grafton Golf Club members who have graduated to gain state selection including Peter Langham, Jon Bennetts and Paul Saunders, who all played for NSW.

Hall, a prodigious striker of the ball, now playing out of the Virginia Golf Club, plays off a one handicap.
