Ghosts going mental

THERE wasn't a registered 'shrink' or couch in sight, but Grafton Ghosts players engaged in an important psychology session at training on Thursday night.

The unusual session was aimed at getting the Ghosts mental approach back on track leading into the game against Kyogle Turkeys at New Park, Kyogle, on Sunday.

Captain-coach Matt Michael has been concerned the Ghosts have forgotten how to win games and believes the problem is more mental than physical.

"We had a good team talk about our mental approach," Michael said.

"I let the team have a fair bit of input into the session and we've come up with some ideas we're going to work on starting with a training session on Saturday.

"We've been in good positions to win a couple of games."

While defeated in all three Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League rounds this season, the Ghosts went under in the final minutes against South Tweed in the opening game and led until the final 20 minutes against Cudgen last Sunday.
