Ghosts busted

SOUTH Tweed's try-scoring machine Thomas Philips ran in five tries as the Koalas thrashed bottom-placed Grafton at Dave Burns field yesterday.

Philips has now bagged eight tries in his last two Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League games for South Tweed, who moved up to nine points and stayed among the competition's leading pack with the win.

South Tweed coach Brock Mathers was pleased with his side's performance.

"It was a comprehensive win," Mathers said.

"Although it was a game where they was a lot of starting and stopping and there wasn't much flow. There were no dramas.

"I'm happy with the players and they are going really well."

At Ned Byrnes Field, Cudgen ran out 56-12 winners against Kyogle.

Fullback Craig Thurston was again among the points racking up a personal haul of 20, two tries and six goals.

Winger Jackson Hardy and hooker Tayne Mulherin both bagged two tries each.
