GHS retain Shield



GRAFTON High School retained its hold on The Daily Examiner Open Rugby League Shield with a grinding 26-16 win at McKittrick Oval last night.

Grafton High's Scott Bennett was named Player of the Series and Ben Ellis was the Player of the Match.

Under-14s

THE Under-14s Daily Examiner Shield final went to South Grafton High School, which beat Maclean High School 32-4. South High scored six tries to one after leading Maclean 10-4 at half-time. In the consolation final Grafton High defeated McAuley Catholic College 32-4.

Westlawn Cup

EARLIER in Westlawn Cup primary school competition the Combined Schools team overcame South Grafton Primary 24-6. The Combined team ran in four second-half tries to nil after leading 4-nil at half time. South only scored one try, but it was a beauty with Luke Barkley sprinting 75m to score under the posts. In the consolation final Westlawn beat Grafton Primary 50-nil.
