KATRINA Beadman was ecstatic when her daughter Larni was named grand champion baby at yesterday's Grafton Jacaranda Baby Show.

"I was happy when she won her section (girls 6-12 months) but I was ecstatic when she won overall champion baby," she said.

Katrina and her husband Andrew also were thrilled at the success of son Mason, who came second in the boys two-three years section.

"There were so many gorgeous babies entered in the show... I was hoping that my children had a chance," Katrina said.

Ranging from newborns to three-year-olds, there were 80 entrants.

Director of the Jacaranda Beautiful Baby competition, Debbie Cox, said the competition was a success considering the switch of venue to the Barn at Grafton Showground.

"All of the entrants looked gorgeous," she said.
