GRAFTON hockey?s banner has disappeared.

PRESIDENT of the Grafton Men's Hockey Association, Chris Blanchard, yesterday expressed dismay at the theft of the association's new promotional banner.

The banner promoting a junior hockey sign-on this Saturday was attached inside the high fence on the Oliver Street end of the sand-based field.

"This banner was purchased to replace the old one stolen after sign-on day last year and had only been up a week," he said.

"It seems sometime on Saturday evening or early Sunday morning, thieves scaled the fence and stole the banner.

"It looked really good and aside from the cost, it is disappointing for the people who promote and develop junior hockey," he said.

"If anyone has any information about this shameful act could they contact the police or Grafton hockey." The theft has been reported to police.
