Grafton rowers? impressive performance

GRAFTON Rowing Club representatives had a successful weekend when they pitted themselves against the best rowing talent from across the State in the Port Macquarie and Manning River Regattas.

With only two rowers sporting the black and gold club colours, Grafton returned home with an impressive collection of placings.

Battling wind and choppy conditions on Saturday, young-gun Brenton Ford scored two second placings in the men's under 17 single scull and the men's novice single scull, while veteran Luke McBeath won the men's intermediate scull (2000m).

Sunday's events saw Ford once again demonstrate his athletic prowess with a second placing in the men's under 17 single scull (1000m) and a third placing in the men's intermediate single scull (2000m).

Lower Clarence rower Kane Ramon gained a second placing in the men's intermediate single scull (2000m).
