Grafton rowing?s weekend in the sun

FROM single sculls, to fours, quads, pairs, double sculls and the premier eights, there will be rowing action aplenty on the mighty Clarence River today and tomorrow for the annual Head of the River and Grafton Rowing Club regattas.

GRC president Greg Thompson has been amazed by the dedication and talent displayed by some of our nation's finest school rowers in preparation for the huge two-day event.

"You'll see some of the best young rowers in Australia at the Head of the River with many of them backing up to compete in GRC regatta on Sunday," Thompson said.

"Some of the races on Sunday involve 10 lanes. It's a massive weekend and accommodation in the town is fully booked. This certainly ranks as one of the best two-day regattas in NSW."
