TEENAGE batting star Simon Lewis was felled by a cricketer's indignant nightmare at Barry Watts Oval ? a full toss directly in his groin.

However, the youngster managed to regain composure to play a leading role in Lawrence's comprehensive defeat of Wander- ers on Saturday.

Lewis, 17, scored 29 as he and partner Jack Quelch (35) put on an opening stand of 71 in Lawrence's first innings total of 125.

"It got him right where it hurts and dropped him," Lawrence's Mark Horton said of the errant ball from Matt Bryant.

After batting out its 45 overs Lawrence led by Mark Field and Scott Davis (3-7) skittled the 10-man Wanderers side for a meagre 30.

While Wanderers collapsed, the pitch at one end resembled a 'paddock ready to sow corn in', one onlooker suggested.

Maclean United, led by 89 from Brett Jones and 56 by Deane Moran, continued its good form scoring 182 then dismissing Yamba for 126 at Yamba Oval.
