Gwen?s bid to bust cancer

By Emma Cornford

Brassieres, intimates, underthings, bras.

Whatever you want to call them, Grafton's Gwen Mulherin has collected almost 2000 of the undergarments since March for the annual Bras for Cancer appeal, based on the Gold Coast. She will send up her final shipment of bras in the first week of September and yesterday urged Clarence Valley women to give their underwear draw a spring clean.

If you think your intimates are a tad raunchy for Mrs Mulherin's eyes, don't worry. After sorting through mountains of bras, she hardly pays attention any more.

"I've seen pink lacy ones, teddies, huge big ones, little ones that wouldn't even cover a nipple and even a rubber one," she said.

One dollar from each bra will go to breast cancer research. Contact Mrs Mulherin on 6642 5552 to make a donation.
