Hard yards for MS

Grafton's Liza Bloomer is set to put in the hard yards to raise money for research into Multiple Sclerosis.

Mrs Bloomer, who volunteered for Multiple Sclerosis Australia in November after her uncle died from the disease, will trek through Northern India as part of the Multiple Sclerosis Challenge. The challenge is a 14-day trek around Ladakh, from June 30.

"There are quite a number of people in our community with MS and 22,000 in Australia," Mrs Bloomer said.

This weekend Mrs Bloomer will host a host a trivia night, and a 'car boot market' at The Barn in the Grafton Showgrounds in a bid to raise $5000 for research into a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and support services for people living with the disease.

Mrs Bloomer said she hoped to get 50 stalls at The Barn on Sunday.

"People who don't have enough to have their own garage sale can sell a table of treasures," she said.

The sale starts at 9am, with a $10 fee for those wishing to sell.

Tomorrow, she will host the 'Bizarre Bazaar' trivia night at Grafton's Legacy House from 7pm. Tickets to the trivia night are $10. Call Mrs Bloomer on 6643 3031 for more infor- mation.
