Heats the feature events

GRAFTON Greyhounds race this afternoon with the feature being the running of four heats of the Lochinvar Jet one to three win series over 407 metres.

In heat one the Helen Cooper-trained Pitlochry Lass will be hard to beat after she led most of the way to win here last meeting in the good time of 23.40.

Hardest to beat could be the Charlie Northfield-trained Toodoodlebuck who is a very powerful finisher, but tends to be very slow early.

Bar Fine Bob trained by Reg Gardoll is another who may figure in the finish.

The second heat looks to have the best bet of the day in Kingsbrae Di, trained by Charlie Northfield.

Kingsbrae Di is the winner of her only two starts at Grafton, one of which was in the best time of the day.

Kingsbrae Di has good early speed and this should enable her to overcome the five box.

Hardest to beat could be the Linda McLeod-trained Swift Slayer, who is well drawn in box two and has good early speed.

Heat three should be an interesting race with three last-

start winners on the Grafton track engaged.

Watson's Whisper, trained by Des Winters, was very impressive when he led all the way last meeting in 23.43.

Mistree Surfie, trained by Greg Roberts, won a heat and final over the July Carnival and ran 23.58 to win the final and the Dennis Burt-trained Sanden Baron looked strong when he led all the way last meeting to win his maiden in 23.81.

Luck in running could be the deciding factor in this race.

The final heat features the return to Grafton of the Mitch Northfield-trained Go Wild Bean, who was very convincing when he won his maiden in July by eight lengths in 23.36, not far outside the best of the day.

Moey Valley, trained by Des Winters, led from the first turn when he won at the last meeting by five lengths in a creditable 23.47 and will certainly test Go Wild Bean.

Best bet of the day will be Watch The Web, but the odds will be very cramped.

For that reason Visa Card, who is well box in the Grafton District Services Club top grade, could be the best value of the meeting.

You will be able to bet with the tote and bookmakers on all meetings this afternoon.
