It?s the sound of silence

WHIPORIE filmmaker Cate McQuillen's modern black and white, silent film, Gem'n I, will bring a touch of history and host of Grafton talent to Dorrigo when it makes its world premiere on Saturday.

Ms McQuillen, who directed Gem'n I, involved young people with a passion for filmmaking in her lastest production.

The two leads are played by Grafton actors Michael Balk and Maree Lowe.

"It's a unique initiative. We basically took over the entire town (Dorrigo). It's a chase for gold. We chose the story because of the history of gold mining in Dorrigo," Ms McQuillen said.

The screening will be hosted by ABC film historian, Adam Bowen, and the music score will be played live by Shane Peninton. For more information on the screening, phone 6657 2097.
