Judy?s best in show

WHEN you walk into Judy Attwater's yard in Grafton, you are greeted by three leaping, licking German shepherds named Dusty, Emma and Fion.
But these are not standard pets -? 10-year-old Dusty is believed to be the only dog in Australia with a title in every event a German shepherd can enter.
Dusty's daughter, five-year-old Emma, is also well on her way to show fame, and is believed to be the only German shepherd in NSW to earn a herding title.
Six-month-old Fion is still learning how to behave when guests arrive, but Mrs Attwater holds high hopes for the dog.
As a result of her training abilities, Mrs Attwater was recently presented with a prestigious outstanding achievement award from the German Shepherd Dog League.
"I've never heard of anyone getting those (for training) before ... so they're not a regular occurence," Mrs Attwater said.
"I wasn't expecting it at all, it was a real shot out of the blue. I guess they said that they are supposed to be promoting the breed and this lady is doing that, so they gave us the award."
Mrs Attwater has owned German shepherds since 1967 and said the breed was very intelligent.
"They're terribly easy to live with. They're really easy to train because they're basically very intelligent dogs," she said.
