YAMBA business Nicholson Fine Foods (NFF) has won a place at the special Australian Trade Display to be staged in Los Angeles, beginning yesterday.
NFF will feature its national awarding-winning original Belgian chocolate mousse in both retail and catering packs to more than 300 accredited food and beverage buyers from across the United States.
The Los Angeles event is part of the Australian Government's 'G'Day LA-Australia week 2OO5', a 10-day festival that includes food and wine expos, business seminars, film shows, golf days, gala dinners and travel shows.
Owner of Nicholson Fine Foods and original Belgian chocolate mousse creator Peter Nichol- son, said this was an enormous opportunity for his company.
"We are a tiny, new company, not even three years old, and we are up there with the best Australian food producers," he said.
Mr Nicholson said this was a big opportunity for him to expand his contacts in the North American market.
"This is a chance to get into gourmet food shops, or a chain of gourmet supermarkets, or amongst supermarket wholesale distribution or a food servicestyle distribution company," he said.
He said NFF owed a lot to the people of the Lower Clarence, who had supported him.
"It's the people of the Lower Clarence that have really allowed this to happen," Mr Nicholson said.
