Kapeen joins field



LOWER River businessman Trevor Kapeen seeks election to the Clarence Valley Council at the poll in March.

He is the general manager of the Nungera Housing Co-operative.

Mr Kapeen is a long-time resident of the Clarence Valley. He developed a high level of business and administrative skills and held a number of senior management positions before being appointed general manager of Nungera six years ago. His business expertise has led to appointment as a director of Clarence Coast Business Resources.

He is a member of the Aboriginal Housing Office and member of the Housing Appeals Committee.

While he has led an active business life Mr Kapeen has also found time to participate in community activities.

He is a member of the Maclean Rotary Club and with his family has been involved in a wide variety of sports, from rugby league and cricket to surf life saving and golf.

He was named Maclean Shire Citizen of the Year in 2003.
