GRAFTON Public School athlete Olivia Morrison heads to Toowoomba this weekend to play for the NSW PSSA hockey team at the Australian Championships.

The 12-year-old Year 6 student was the only North Coast player selected in the 14-girl NSW squad which is made up of players from as far afield as Tamworth, Armidale, Sydney, Bathurst, Orange, Albury and Wollongong.

Morrison, who plays centre half, performed with distinction at the NSW Championships at Moorebank, Sydney, in June to win selection.

The Australian PSSA Championships run from August 29 to September 2.

In the interim, Morrison will attend a training camp in Sydney for trials before head- ing to Toowoomba.

NSW PSSA girls team have won the Australian title for the past three years.

In the local Grafton hockey competition, Morrison plays for Grafton Public School and the Royals Under-13 boys side.

She is also an accomplished all round athlete.

Morrison has also represented the Clarence Zone at cross football and cross country running.
