Kookaburra of the Year

By Tony White

Grafton's favourite hockey son, Brent Livermore, has been named Kookaburras International Player of the Year.

The 28-year-old previously won the award in 2002.

Livermore, captain of the gold medal winning Australian mens hockey team at the Athens Olympics, was presented with the award at a special presentation in Brisbane last weekend.

The Award is judged via a points system throughout Australia's international matches during 2004.

Last year Matthew Wells from Tasmania won the award.
