THROUGH tireless effort and excellent results, Kylie Butler has been announced the winner of the TAFE NSW medal for her studies in tourism, meeting and events, at the North Coast institute in Grafton.

The TAFE medal is awarded to the student with the highest grades across the State in each category.

"This award will help open doors of employment opportunites for Kylie now," TAFE teacher Linda Stevens said.

Miss Butler's interest in tourism started during her HSC course and that has culminated in her the TAFE State award.

The course lasted 12 months.

In that time she studied ba- sic tourism and drafted many events.

She said she thought it was a great experience that gave her more background knowledge of the industry.

Receiving distinctions in the field and being placed in the top of State has shown she has the determination to succeed.

Ms Butler hopes to have a sucessful career in business ad- ministration.
