Lasting memories of a Papal audience



FORMER Federal Member for Page, Ian Robinson, has paid tribute to the late Pope John Paul II, saying he was a 'beacon of faith' for the world.

Mr Robinson said he was moved to meet the Holy Father at the Vatican while leading an Australian Parliamentary delegation to a conference in Rome in 1982.

"He (the Pope) was a man of remarkable Christian endeavour who influenced, for the better, the great reform to remove Communism, curb dictatorships, and inspire social reforms and compassion."
