Lawrence?s finals hopes washed out

By Tony White

HEAVY rain washed away Lawrence's chances in this year's first grade Lower Clarence Cricket Association finals series.

Due to both semi finals being cancelled on Saturday, Lawrence are the unlucky recipients under LCCA rules governing the end of season series.

Lawrence, who finished fourth in the minor premiership, were scheduled to tackle third placed Wanderers at Barry Watts Oval. Minor premiers Yamba were down to play United, last season's premiers.

After the cancellations, Lawrence now drop out with Yamba gaining direct entry into the grand final on March 19 at Yamba Oval.

United now tackle Wanderers at Barry Watts Oval in the final this Saturday.

In second grade, minor premiers Iluka progress directly into the grand final at Iluka Oval on March 19 and Wanderers (3rd) and Warriors (2nd) play the final at Ilarwill Oval on Saturday.

Brushgrove progress straight to the third grade grand final at Brushgrove on March 19 and Iluka (3rd) and Harwood (2nd) play the final at Harwood Oval on Saturday.

A reserve date of March 26 has been set aside if the grand final's are not played on March 19.

The LCCA end of year presentations will take place at Yamba Bowling Club on March 29.
