Many brown bottles in hangover
By EMMA CORNFORD
GRAFTON'S Greg Ryan was in a bit of a quandary.
He is in the process of constructing a new chandelier ? a wooden frame filled with the bottoms of beer bottles.
It will hang in the recently renovated Conference Room of Roches Hotel in Grafton.
Being an organised and dedicated man, Mr Ryan took no time to cut holes in the wooden frame and fitted the clear and green beer bottles.
When he moved to fit the brown bottles, Mr Ryan found that only the Coopers brand would suit the spots.
The problem was that he had only a few Coopers empties.
What do do?
In the end it was left to a group of dedicated volunteers to polish off a few cartons of the amber brew on Wednesday afternoon, helped along with the prospect of fresh Clarence Valley prawns.
The men said they were simply donating their time for a worthy community cause.
"It's a hard job," one happy contributor said.
"But somebody had to do it."
